Locally owned. Built for the Treasure Valley’s specific conditions.
Bench Appliance Co. is a locally owned appliance repair company serving Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, and surrounding Treasure Valley communities. We built this company specifically for the Idaho market because Boise’s hard water and desert heat create appliance failure patterns that national chains and out-of-area companies encounter infrequently in their primary markets — and consequently underdiagnose when they service here.
PPM calcium hardness in Boise water — 2–4× the design range
Days above 100°F per year in the Treasure Valley
Two environmental factors define appliance repair in the Treasure Valley: hard water and heat. Boise’s municipal water delivers calcium hardness at 180–260 PPM — two to four times the range that appliance manufacturers design for. At these levels, ice maker fill valves accumulate calcium scale within 2–5 years, dishwasher spray arms clog, and refrigerator water systems develop flow restrictions that look like mechanical failure but are actually chemistry failures.
Refrigerator compressors working beyond their rated conditions for weeks at a time, dryer vents accumulating lint faster in warm air, and equipment bay temperatures in garages exceeding 120–130°F. We identify both factors on every relevant service call rather than treating the symptom in isolation.
