Miele, Bosch, KitchenAid — brand-specific hard water service
Eagle's premium dishwasher market is led by Miele, Bosch, and KitchenAid. Each brand has specific service characteristics in Eagle's 200–260 PPM water. Miele has a built-in water softener requiring salt replenishment. Bosch uses condensation drying rather than a heating element. KitchenAid's hard food disposer accumulates calcium-hardened debris. We bring brand-specific knowledge to every Eagle call.
Miele dishwashers have an ion exchange water softener that regenerates with dishwasher salt. This requires periodic salt replenishment — typically every 2–4 weeks in Eagle's 200–260 PPM hard water. A Miele with a depleted salt reservoir produces white film and calcium-scaled spray arms identical to a dishwasher without any softening. Check the salt indicator light before assuming a mechanical fault.
Bosch uses condensation drying rather than a heating element — hot water hits the cool stainless steel tub and condensation drains away. This means Bosch doesn't develop heating element calcium scale. Bosch's hard water issues manifest instead in spray arm nozzles and door seal. Adjust maintenance expectations accordingly.
