ZIP 83669 — Northwest Treasure Valley — New Construction Specialists
Star is one of the Treasure Valley’s fastest-growing small communities, expanding rapidly along the northwest Meridian corridor since the early 2010s. Virtually all of Star’s housing stock is post-2010 construction — the city has grown from a small agricultural community into a substantial residential area almost entirely within the current appliance service window. Builder-grade appliances installed in Star’s subdivisions are at 4–15 years of age and generating their first significant service calls.
Star’s construction timeline means that nearly the entire city’s appliance stock is in the 5–15 year first-service window simultaneously. LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool builder packages installed across Star’s subdivisions are generating consistent demand for first pump failures, first ice maker calcium blockages, and first dishwasher performance degradation. We see this concentrated first-service pattern clearly in Star service call data.
Star’s water supply, drawn from the northwest Treasure Valley groundwater system, tests at 185–250 PPM calcium hardness — comparable to Meridian’s upper range and among the harder supplies in our service area. Ice maker fill valve failures at years 3–5 are the norm for unfiltered Star refrigerators. We install inline water filters on every Star ice maker call and strongly recommend them proactively for any Star homeowner whose refrigerator has a water and ice system.
Star’s new construction has a high proportion of three-car garages, and many homeowners use the third bay for a secondary refrigerator or freezer. Northwest-facing Star garages receive less direct summer solar loading than south-facing garages, but east- and west-facing bay doors still create equipment bays that exceed 110–120°F in July. Secondary refrigerators in Star garages should have adequate rear ventilation clearance and ideally face north or east.
Star is approximately 18–22 minutes from our Boise base depending on Star’s specific neighborhood. Same-day service is consistently available throughout Star six days a week. Refrigerator emergencies from Star addresses receive same-day priority dispatch. Call before noon for best same-day availability on non-emergency appliance calls.
